At Pro-Fit Physio and Allied Health we take the time to carefully listen to your specific needs, and work with you to achieve your personal goals.

 

The Pro-Fit team comprises 16 highly qualified and experienced specialists – seven physiotherapists, five psychologists, a dietitian, an exercise physiologist, a remedial masseur and a personal trainer.

 

We pride ourselves on being specialised in different areas so we can improve every condition we are faced with, and guarantee our patients the best possible and most evidence based treatments available.

Not in every case, a referral is not necessary. However if you have one, please bring it along so that we can contact the referring doctor if required.

 

If you have hurt yourself at work and you are covered through a Workers Compensation Scheme you need to present a work cover certificate as well as a referral letter from your doctor.

 

If you have been involved in a motor car accident you will need a referral from your doctor to state the date of the accident and the type(s) of injuries you have.

 

If you have been referred under the Medicare scheme (five treatments) you need to have a care plan (EPC) issued by your local doctor.

If you are a (DVA) patient you need a (D904) DVA referral.

Physiotherapy is a form of manual – or “hands on” – therapy used to aid rapid rehabilitation from physical injury and assist post-operative recovery.

 

It can also be used to maintain the body at its optimum state, with the aim of enhancing performance in sport, speeding up recovery time and preventing re-injury. As such, Pro-Fit regularly works with a number of local professional and amateur athletes.

 

One of physiotherapy’s lesser known benefits is that it can help eliminate headaches, as well as neck and back pain.

Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and its functions, particularly those affecting behaviour in a given context.  It refers to a person's mental characteristics or attitude.

Massage therapy is the manipulation of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to enhance function, aid in the healing process decrease muscle reflex activity and to promote relaxation and well-being.

 

Remedial Massage is a treatment modality that manipulates the soft tissues of the body including movement for a specific therapeutic effect, rather than a general therapeutic effect. It uses relevant techniques, lubricants and movements according to the client’s needs and response. This leads to the healing process, which begins at the cellular level aiding soft tissues in repairing, restoring functional integrity and adapting back to health.

 

Remedial massage is particularly popular among sportsmen and women as it can be used to treat a specific injury or be used to maintain the body at its optimum state.

 

But remedial massage isn’t only for athletes. It’s for everyone. Pregnant women in particular can benefit from remedial massage, as can those who suffer from headaches.

A dietician is essentially an expert on diet and nutrition.  Dieticians apply the art and science of human nutrition to help people understand the relationship between food and health and make dietary choices to attain and maintain health, and to prevent and treat illness and disease. 

 

At Pro-Fit Physio & Allied Health Centre we are pleased to offer the services of a highly qualified and experienced dietician, who can advise you on what to eat in order to lead a healthy lifestyle or achieve a specific health-related goal.

 

Dietetic services are particularly popular among those who are overweight or battling obesity, but dieticians can also help with a variety of nutrition-related diseases such as diabetes, hyperlipidaemia and celiac disease.

 

Whatever your condition, nutritional needs or desired outcome, our dietitian will tailor a plan just for you.

Yes!

 

Our clinics use state-of-the-art computer software and footplate scanning technology called “Gaitscan” to assess foot function and order individual custom moulded orthotics. These are excellent for reducing Achilles Tendon, shin, knee and lower back problems.

We accept cash, EFTPOS, Visa and Mastercard payments.

 

We bulk bill Medicare and DVA patients between 9:00am and 4:00pm.

 

Insurance claims are billed directly to the insurer provided all necessary claim numbers and information is provided to us.

YES, on the spot.  Please remember to bring your health fund card with you.

 

We use the HICAPS system and we are the preferred provider for Bupa, which means less money out of your pocket. Also we accept most/all private health funds.

You are totally entitled to choose your own therapist! Simply bring the referral in with you to your first session and we will liaise with the referring doctor to inform them that you have commenced treatment with us.

  • A doctors referral if you have one

  • Any X-Rays, scans or other test results

  • Your health fund card if you are in a private health fund

  • Your Medicare card and EPC form if you are under Medicare

  • Your  D904 form and DVA card if you are a DVA patient

  

If you are a Workers Compensation Patient, you need to bring:

  • A doctors referral

  • A current Workcover Medical Certificate

  • Insurance company details, including Case Managers name, contact details and your claim number (if you already have it)
